Last week, my dad, my brothers and I went to the famous Széchenyi thermal baths, and HOW freaking gorgeous it this place? The Széchenyi Medicinal Bath in Budapest is the largest medicinal bath in all of Europe, and its water is supplied by two thermal springs. There are a total of 21 one baths, several saunas, spas, a bar, and more! The pictures say it all. The weather was perfect, the baths were beautiful, and we had a great time!
I'm definitely going back, and I can't wait to try it again in the winter time!
Have you ever been to an ice bar? No? Neither had I, until today... and it was so refreshing! Everything was made of ice. The walls, the "chairs" and "couches", the bar, and even the shot glasses were made of ice! There were also little statutes of a seahorse, a lion, an astronaut, and so on, which was really cool.
The weather in Budapest is beautiful, but it has not been colder than 28C since we arrived yesterday so it was nice to be in a cold room for a while, haha! If you're ever in Budapest, you should definitely check this place out.
YOU GUYS... I'M IN BUDAPEST!
I didn't taks a whole lot of pictures today, because my dad and I travelled with three (!!) suitcases, three hand luggage bags, one golfbag, and Baltus + his travel crate. Getting from the hotel to the airport was a circus, but we made it just in time... Getting from the airport in Budapest to my apartment was even worse, but hey, we're FINALLY here!!
The weather is beautiful, I'm super happy with the apartment, everyone wants to pet Baltus, and Baltus loves the attention. So far so good!
Unfortunately, that's all I have for today. We're going out to eat now, and then I have to unpack everything. I'll be back at the end of the week, though! In the meantime, let me know if you have any questions or suggestions in the comments section! ♥
Oh how i love love love days like today! ♥ Anne starts school tomorrow, and I move on Friday, so we decided to have a pancake breakfast with strawberries, cream, raspberries and bacon... So freaking good! We went down to the basement, after breakfast, and watched one of our favourite childhood movies "Zathura" and just relaxed.
It was so nice to have a fun and calm morning before I move. Now, it's time to go home and finish packing... Only 3 more days until Baltus and I go to Budapest!
How many dogs do you want / plan on having?
Hahahah, 17! ...just kidding... I actually want 3. I have Baltus, Christian has Rex, and I'd eventually like one a little bit smaller than Baltus. But, who knows, two is also a handful.
Why did you choose the University in Budapest?
I chose it for a lot of reasons, actually! Two of the veterinarians I worked with went to that school and they both said it was great. I also wanted to go there because you get authorisation in all EU countries, and it also won't be a problem for me to get authorised in Norway. In addition to that, I've heard great things about the school, the school in itself is beautiful, the school is located in one of the most beautiful cities in Europe, and
What camera do you use?
I use the Canon G7X!
Why are you moving so early when you don't start school until September?
To make it easier for my dog and also to have some "me time". Since we'll be in a new apartment, I'll need to practice home alone time with my dog, and make him understand that we're not just visiting and that I'm always going to come back to the apartment. Budapest is also a wonderful city and I want to get into my new routines, get to know the city, maybe learn some Hungarian, and take some time to relax, read and prepare for school.
Aaah, it is so nice to have Jane back in Stavanger. I don't see her a lot because she's been at school in Denmark, so this was a much needed lunch date! It's so nice to just have some girl time and catch up. And, what better way to catch up than to go out for sushi? ♥
Now, I only have one more day left at the clinic, before I have to move out of the apartment, finish packing and throwing stuff away, finish crate training Baltus, and move to Budapest. Can you believe I'm moving in 15 days???
Christian and I had so much fun last weekend! We ''babysat'' Kara, the cutest labrador ever, and we also had a little double date with my cousin and her fiance. My cousin is getting married in August, but I won't be able to come since I'll be in Budapest by that time. Instead, Christian and I got to see their house and eat dinner on the terrace while the dogs enjoyed a chewing bone.
The moving date is closing in so fast, so we're making the most of the Norwegian summer! It's crazy to think that Baltus and I will be moving to Budapest in only 22 days..

Happy Thursday! ♥
Today was both fun and sad... but mostly fun! I finished work around 14, went home to walk the dogs, and then got ready for the farewell party my boss was hosting for Kristine. Kristine is a veterinarian and she has been with us for 1.5 years, but she and her boyfriend are moving to England in two weeks. :(
We ate dinner, cake, candy and cupcakes, went for a walk and shared stories and just enjoyed the evening together. It was a lot of fun, and we're all going to miss Kristine!
Spending time with my boys and being back at work! I always love going to work, even though my job at the vet. clinic can be a little bit tiring at times. My job is exhausting, fun, exciting, great, weird, cool, and sad; but it's never boring. And the best part is, I always get to go home to my boys after a long day! We also celebrated my boyfriend's birthday this weekend, which was really nice ♥
Losing my voice as soon as I got back from Canada. A huge part of my job is answering questions over the phone, selling dog- and cat food, booking appointments, and delivering animals to their owners after they've been in for surgery, dental checkup and so on... So you can probably imagine how much it sucked when I lost my voice. However, I'm back to normal now so it's all good!
This week, I realized that I only have ONE MONTH (!!!!) left in Norway before Baltus and I move to Budapest. How exciting is that?! We don't have a final moving date yet, but we're aiming for August 10th. Right now, I'm focusing on selling the rest of the things that are in my apartment, and crate training Baltus for the flight.
This week's craving has to be the weirdest one yet..? I've been craving rice cream for almost the whole week, and I have no idea why. Rice Cream, for those of you who don't know, is exactly what it sounds like. In Norway, most people would eat it as a Christmas dessert and we would put an almond in it. Whoever gets the bowl with the almond wins and they get a bag of candy, or whatever the prize is... I can't really think of any other scenario/occasion where we would eat it.
I love this picture. It just gives me a summer feeling.
What have you done this week?
Who am I?
Hi, I'm Ine! I'm 22 years old, from Norway, and I currently live in Budapest, Hungary, with my dogs, Baltus and Phoebe. I've wanted to become a veterinarian for as long as I can remember, and I'm currently a 1st year vet student at UNIVET. I'll mainly be writing about my experience as a veterinary student in Budapest, but also about my day to day life and my experience of life in Budapest.
