This entire week was incredible! I mean... I'm a vet student!! This has been my dream since I was 4, and all of a sudden I'm here?!? It's insane, fantastic, overwhelming, scary, and exciting.. but it's happening. And I'm SO happy!
Nothing! Maybe that the week went by so fast??
I'm so happy I got to know people before school started! Starting a new school in a new country with new people is scary enough as it is, but luckily I've gotten to know some amazing girls through facebook, mutual friends, and at the entrance exam in March.
I love this picture! This is from the ANSA freshmen week. ANSA is the official organisation for Norwegians who are studying abroad. They arrange pub quizzes, May 17th celebration (the Norwegian constitution day), freshmen week and so on! This year, because I'm a freshman, I got to take part of the freshmen week... But I'll tell you more about it in a separate post! ♥
Today, Sara, Synnøve, Hanna and I went out for brunch.. again, haha! And, okay, I know what you're thinking... "Is eating the only thing they do in Budapest?"
Well, the answer is no.. But Budapest has so many incredible breakfast/lunch/brunch restaurants. ++ It's cheap, so students can actually afford going out for breakfast once in a while, haha!
This time, we went to the Blue Bird Cafe. The Blue Bird Cafe is a cute little restaurant in the 7th district, and if you look it up on facebook or trip advisor, you'll find a great variety of reviews to say the least. So I have to be honest and say: the service sucked, the waitresses were rude, they forgot one of our drinks, they took forever to find us a table so we found our own, and we had to go and get our own menus because we got tired of waiting... but the food was great though, haha.. Really, I mean it. It was a cute place and the food was great, so I'll probably go there again. I'm just warning my readers that if you go there, you can expect good food and an instagram worthy location, but nothing more, unfortunately.
When we had finished eating, we went to check out the market right next door, which had so many cool things! Old money, handmade jewellery, old cameras, flowers, paintings, typewriters, food, picture frames, and pretty much everything else.
...thank you for taking pictures Sara! ♥
It's Sunday. The last Sunday and the last day before we become veterinary students to be specific.. Therefore, Karoline, Synnøve, Lina and I decided we would celebrate our last day of freedom with pancakes! We had strawberries, raspberries, yogurt, scrambled eggs, bacon, banana and peach with the pancakes, and it was so good!
...we should totally make pancake Sunday a thing, don't you think???
Today, I went out for lunch with Hanna, Sara, Karoline, Ole, Lina and Synnøve to Budapest Baristas. + All our dogs, of course! ;) The weather here is always perfect for eating outside, and I've come to realize that the best meal in Budapest is breakfast. So far, I've tried maybe 5 or 6 (?) breakfast / lunch restaurants, and the food is always sooo freaking good! From omelet to toast, to pancakes to salads; breakfast in Budapest is always good.
Today, Synnøve and I went out for breakfast to this super cute place called Á La Maison Grand. Budapest has so many incredible breakfast/lunch/brunch places. Especially the one we went to today!! ++ We love exploring, so why eat at home when you can discover new places?
So far, Á La Maison Grand is my absolute favourite breakfast place! They're dog friendly (this is important, haha!), fair prices, the place is really nice and clean, the staff is super friendly, and the food was super good. 10/10 if you ask me! ♥
Who am I?
Hi, I'm Ine! I'm 22 years old, from Norway, and I currently live in Budapest, Hungary, with my dogs, Baltus and Phoebe. I've wanted to become a veterinarian for as long as I can remember, and I'm currently a 2nd year vet student at UNIVET. I'll mainly be writing about my experience as a veterinary student in Budapest, but also about my day to day life and my experience of life in Budapest.
