I got to help out with a dog's caesarean section in my last week at work, which was really cool. Another thing that really made my week was that Baltus and I got to see the lunar eclipse. I mean, Baltus obviously doen't care, but it was still cool. We went to the dog park around midnight, and got to see the whole thing. It was beautiful!
See how I changed it from letdown to downside? ...This week's downside was Friday. Friday was my last day at work. It was weird because I can always come back to visit and hopefully do my internships there, so I'm not going away forever, but it was also sad because I've had so much fun working at the clinic.
12 days until i move to Budapest!?!?!?!
Mangoooo! I love frozen fruit, and I had been craving mango for several days. Perfect movie snack if you ask me, haha! + The dogs also love it.
Aaah, it is so nice to have Jane back in Stavanger. I don't see her a lot because she's been at school in Denmark, so this was a much needed lunch date! It's so nice to just have some girl time and catch up. And, what better way to catch up than to go out for sushi? ♥
Now, I only have one more day left at the clinic, before I have to move out of the apartment, finish packing and throwing stuff away, finish crate training Baltus, and move to Budapest. Can you believe I'm moving in 15 days???
Gladmat Festivalen, the annual food festival in Stavanger! Jane and I went to the festival on Friday. I studied veterinary nursing with Jane in Denmark, and I'm super lucky she's doing her internship in Stavanger! ♥ I hadn't seen her since maybe March (?), so it was really nice to get together and go to the festival. We ate Ethiopian food, tacos, and dessert. It was all delicious!
Not really a let down, but the saddest part of this week was my "farewell lunch" at work. My colleagues got me flowers, a beautiful necklace, a foldable water bowl for Baltus and a Top 10 list of things to do in Budapest + a map of Budapest. ♥ This coming week will be my last week at the clinic, and I'm super sad that I don't get to work with my incredible colleagues anymore, but at the same time I'm excited to start the new chapter in Budapest!
How in the world am I going to get rid of all my stuff??? I have so much stuff and no matter how much I sell or throw away, more things just keep popping up. Does anyone need a couch or three? Haha....
Waffles! And I was sooo happy when I found out they had a waffle stand at the festival!
I mean, come on.. How freaking cute is he? We were outside Wednesday night to take pictures and I thought this was the cutest one.

Happy Monday everyone! ♥
I'm here with big news... NELLY is having a super sale on ALL TOPS! As a student, I usually buy fall and winter clothes in the summer, because NELLY has awesome discounts on "off season" items. In addition to all tops being on sale, you can also get an additional 20% off by using the exclusive code "SWEATERS"! I'll show you what I got below.
Hurry up and check it out before the sale ends! ♥
The farewell party, believe it or not. It was such a nice way for us all to get together and have a girl's night (+ Jan-Arne) and just hang out before Kristine moves.
Laundry day.. No further explaining is needed, haha, laundry day is never fun. Also it took forever to book the plane ticket for my dog. I'm flying from Stavanger -> Oslo -> Budapest, but had to get two separate tickets for the flights, book extra luggage twice, and book my dog in twice..
THE FACT THAT I'M MOVING TO BUDAPEST IN FOUR WEEKS!
Sushi... like usual
I love this picture of Baltus! Maybe I'm a little biased, but he really is the best dog ever.
Happy Thursday! ♥
Today was both fun and sad... but mostly fun! I finished work around 14, went home to walk the dogs, and then got ready for the farewell party my boss was hosting for Kristine. Kristine is a veterinarian and she has been with us for 1.5 years, but she and her boyfriend are moving to England in two weeks. :(
We ate dinner, cake, candy and cupcakes, went for a walk and shared stories and just enjoyed the evening together. It was a lot of fun, and we're all going to miss Kristine!
Can you believe it?? I have officially bought my one-way plane ticket to Budapest! Baltus and I leave on August 10th, which is in only 30 days, and I'm finally starting to realize that this is actually happening! I have also paid the rest of my tuition for the first semester, started crate training Baltus, sold all my plates, my coffee table and the guest bed.
I also went to the dog park this morning, before work. It was 26C and perfect lighting for taking pictures. I have to take advantage of good lighting when my dog is this photogenic, haha! ♥
Are you excited to start this journey with me next month? I hope you are!
Spending time with my dog and being back at work! I always love going to work, even though my job at the vet. clinic can be a little bit tiring at times. My job is exhausting, fun, exciting, great, weird, cool, and sad; but it's never boring. And the best part is, I always get to go home to my baby after a long day! ♥
Losing my voice as soon as I got back from Canada. A huge part of my job is answering questions over the phone, selling dog- and cat food, booking appointments, and delivering animals to their owners after they've been in for surgery, dental checkup and so on... So you can probably imagine how much it sucked when I lost my voice. However, I'm back to normal now so it's all good!
This week, I realized that I only have ONE MONTH (!!!!) left in Norway before Baltus and I move to Budapest. How exciting is that?! We don't have a final moving date yet, but we're aiming for August 10th. Right now, I'm focusing on selling the rest of the things that are in my apartment, and crate training Baltus for the flight.
This week's craving has to be the weirdest one yet..? I've been craving rice cream for almost the whole week, and I have no idea why. Rice Cream, for those of you who don't know, is exactly what it sounds like. In Norway, most people would eat it as a Christmas dessert and we would put an almond in it. Whoever gets the bowl with the almond wins and they get a bag of candy, or whatever the prize is... I can't really think of any other scenario/occasion where we would eat it.
I love this picture. It just gives me a summer feeling.
What have you done this week?
This was a much needed day outside! I finished work at 14.45 (2:45PM) and went straight to Anne's house. Anne, Ole, Håvard and I then went to Sirevåg, where Ole's cabin is, to go horseback riding. The weather was perfect, and we got to see cows and sheep, play with the dogs, and of course go horseback riding.
The horses have an incredibly huge area to roam around, so we spent about 1.5 hours just walking around looking for them. We ended up only finding one horse but, on the positive side, it was super peaceful and it was fun to just go for a hike and hang out. Also, we took turns riding so it was a good day anyway!
It's Sunday, and that means it's my last (whole) day in Canada... It has been a short trip, but I got to spend time with my family, see the new house, go swimming, go shopping, and today I also got to see Meena in Kitchener! Meena is my best friend from High School, and I've known him for 6 years.
We went out for sushi to catch up and relax, but also because we both refused to be outside in the INSANE summer weather. It was 32C outside today, but it was so humid it felt more like 40C... The sushi was great, though, and it was really nice to be able to sit down and catch up!
We decided to go to the Butterfly Conservatory in Campbell, once we had finished eating. I saw a butterfly sign on my way to Kitchener and decided we had to go!
The butterflies were beautiful! The conservatory little birds, many different butterflies, a hatching (is it called hatching?) area for butterflies, lots of flowers, and it also had a museum of different bugs and information about them!
I'm back home with my family now, and we're going to have our last family dinner before I go back to Norway tomorrow.
Who am I?
Hi, I'm Ine! I'm 22 years old, from Norway, and I currently live in Budapest, Hungary, with my dogs, Baltus and Phoebe. I've wanted to become a veterinarian for as long as I can remember, and I'm currently a 2nd year vet student at UNIVET. I'll mainly be writing about my experience as a veterinary student in Budapest, but also about my day to day life and my experience of life in Budapest.
