AAAHHH, where do I even begin?? Hi, hello, I'm sorry I went MIA... But here I am!
The past two months have been more than just a little hectic, but also so much fun! I have a lot to tell you, but right now I have something really excited to share with you all...
...this is Phoebe!
Phoebe and her family (mother, two brothers and her sister) were abandoned because the owner of their mother didn't want the responsibility of raising puppies, nor did they want to pay for the mother to get spayed...
One day, I was going through the instagram page of a Hungarian animal shelter called FAPF (which is the most risky thing you can do as a dog lover...). As I'm going through pictures, I noticed they had added something to their story. It was a picture of Phoebe, and when I saw her, I just fell in love.
I don't know what came over me, but I emailed them right away and said that I wanted to foster her until she could find a forever home. She arrived two days later (Sept. 7th), at 3-ish months old, and I guess everyone knew within 10 seconds that she wasn't going anywhere...
At first, everything was scary. If Baltus walked towards her a little too fast, she would scream and wet herself. The doorbell was awful, people were huge and scary, toys were too loud, the food- and water bowls were intimidating, and other dogs seemed to be the scariest of all.
...but luckily she became tough and confident very quickly, thanks to my amazing friends who have helped babysit, socialise her with their dogs, played with her, and especially thanks to Baltus who has been be best big brother ever! They love each other ♥
After about a month, I finally adopted her! She and Baltus are best friends, she's sweet, funny, smart, super weird, and just fits perfectly in our little family. There's really no way we could ever give her back.
Phoebe is now 5 or 6 months old (ish), and she has gone from being an insecure, scared little baby, to becoming the toughest little ball of fluff I have ever seen. Trains, no problem, buses, no problem, coming with me to class with 100 people, no problem, other dogs, no problem. She's wonderful, and I'm so happy that I sent that email!
FAPF is an amazing organisation, and I'm forever grateful that they let me adopt her ♥
Welcome to the family, Phoebe! ♥
Who am I?
Hi, I'm Ine! I'm 22 years old, from Norway, and I currently live in Budapest, Hungary, with my dogs, Baltus and Phoebe. I've wanted to become a veterinarian for as long as I can remember, and I'm currently a 2nd year vet student at UNIVET. I'll mainly be writing about my experience as a veterinary student in Budapest, but also about my day to day life and my experience of life in Budapest.
